Help & FAQ

Everything you need to know about tracking games, claiming Jobs, and reading your team's stats.

Getting started

What is GameLogr, exactly?

GameLogr is a real-time, collaborative stat-tracking app for youth and amateur hockey and soccer teams. Instead of one person trying to track everything, your bench crew splits the game up into focused "Jobs" — like Clock, Possession, or Penalties — and everyone's taps merge into one live, accurate stat line for the whole team.

How do I create a team?

From the home screen, create a new team and pick its sport (hockey or soccer) — sport is set once per team, since it decides which stats and Jobs are available. Add your roster (player names and jersey numbers), and you're ready to schedule your first game.

Can I be part of more than one team?

Yes. Use the team switcher at the top of the home screen — tap the team name and the arrow next to it — to jump between every team you're a member of.

Tracking a live game

What are "Jobs," and why do I need to claim one?

A Job is one focused slice of a live game — Clock, Possession, Penalties/Fouls, or Substitutions. Claiming a job means you're the one tracking that specific thing during the game. This is what lets a whole crew track one game accurately at the same time, instead of one overwhelmed person trying to catch everything. You can claim a Job from a game's "Jobs" button on the Games tab, or from the game itself once it's live.

Can more than one person claim the same job, or switch mid-game?

Each job can only be held by one person at a time, so taps don't collide — but you can release a job and let a teammate pick it up, or claim a different job yourself, any time during the game. Team admins can also release a job someone stepped away from, so it doesn't stay stuck.

What's the difference between the "Jobs" and "My Jobs" buttons?

"Jobs" takes you to the board where you can claim something for that game. Once you've actually claimed at least one job, that same button becomes "My Jobs" — a shortcut straight to what you're tracking, skipping the claim screen. The "My Jobs" tab in the bottom navigation collects every job you're currently holding, across every live and upcoming game.

How does the Possession tracker turn taps into passes, turnovers, and takeaways?

You just tap who currently has the ball or puck. GameLogr looks at the sequence: the same player tapped twice in a row is just another touch; a different teammate means a completed pass; the ball going from your team to the opponent (or back) is scored as a turnover or a takeaway automatically. You're tracking possession, not manually logging every pass.

I made a mistake — can I undo a tap?

Yes. You can retract the most recent event you personally recorded. For penalties, fouls, and cards specifically, any teammate can correct an entry — not just whoever entered it — since those are simple, standalone corrections. Every retraction is logged, so there's always a clear record of what changed.

What shows up on the live scoreboard for people who aren't tracking?

Anyone on the team — parents, coaches, players — can open the Live tab during a game and see the score, clock, and period update in real time, along with a running feed of what's been tracked. They don't need to claim a job to follow along live.

Stats & history

Where do I find a player's career stats?

Open a player's profile from your roster. Their career totals — goals, assists, shots, passes, and more — are summed live across every game they've been tracked in, on every team they've played for, not just the current one.

How do I see how my team is trending?

The team stats screen shows game-over-game trends — goals, possession share, shots per possession, turnovers, takeaways, and (for hockey) faceoffs and penalty minutes — across your completed games, plus a "Top performers" summary.

Where do I find upcoming vs. completed games?

The Games tab keeps any currently live game pinned at the top, with "Upcoming" and "Completed" as separate tabs underneath so you can jump straight to your schedule or your results without scrolling through both.
